Repaired free, always
Send it back at any point in its life. We mend it and return it, and you pay only the postage out.
Halcyon Thread makes eleven things. We remake them each season in different cloth and we repair them free for as long as you own them, which is a promise that only works if the range stays small enough for us to keep it.
Free lifetime repairs sound generous until you consider the arithmetic. A brand with four hundred styles cannot hold spare cloth, matching thread and pattern knowledge for all of them, so the promise quietly becomes a returns policy with better wording.
We hold eleven patterns. We keep cloth from every run in the repair store, we know which seams fail first on each piece, and the person who would mend your jacket has very likely sewn one. The small range is not minimalism as an aesthetic; it is the operational requirement behind the guarantee.

Each cloth run is limited by what we can buy from a mill in one honest lot. When it is gone the piece returns in a different cloth.
Every product page lists cloth, cut-make, and margin. You can see exactly where the price goes.
We buy a mill lot, then decide which of the eleven patterns it suits.
Everything is cut and sewn in the same workshop, by eight people we can name.
Two hundred or so per run. No restocks of the same cloth, ever.
Spare cloth from every run stays in the repair store indefinitely.
Three of the six currently published. The full list, with all the detail, sits on the collection page.
A straight unstructured coat in a heavy wool melton, cut long enough to sit below the knee. The shoulder is unpadded and the lining is cut generously so it moves rather than restricting the sleeve.
Our most repaired garment, which we take as a compliment. The collar and cuffs are the first things to go after a few years, and both are designed to be replaced without touching the body of the shirt.
A high wide trouser with a nine-inch rise and deep pockets that hold an actual notebook. Hemmed to your measurement before dispatch at no extra cost.
“A repair promise is only as real as the spare cloth on the shelf behind it.”
