Terms of Service
The agreement covering your use of this website. Last updated 30 March 2026.
The following terms apply to everyone who uses the Halcyon Thread website. They cover what you may do with our content, what we promise about the site, and what we do not promise. They form a binding agreement between you and Halcyon Thread Workshop Ltd from the moment you use the site.
These terms were last updated on 30 March 2026.
Who you are contracting with
This website is operated by Halcyon Thread Workshop Ltd, trading as Halcyon Thread, of Second Floor, The Old Printworks, 26 Calder Street, Marrowfield, Ingleby IG5 3PW. Where these terms say we, us or our, they mean that business. Where they say you, they mean the person using the site. You can contact us at workshop@halcyonthread.example or on +44 141 496 0332.
Using this website
You may read, browse, print and share the pages of this site for personal, non-commercial purposes. In return we ask that you do not do the following: interfere with the operation or security of the site; attempt to gain access to any part of it that is not published; use automated tools to harvest content at a volume that degrades the service for others; or present our material as your own.
You must not use the contact form to send unlawful, threatening or deliberately misleading material, to distribute malicious code, or to send unsolicited commercial messages. We reserve the right to stop responding to and to block any sender who does.
Content and intellectual property
All text, illustrations, photographs, layout and code on this site are owned by Halcyon Thread Workshop Ltd or used with permission, and are protected by copyright. The Halcyon Thread name and logo are ours. Nothing on this site transfers any of those rights to you.
You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and, where the quotation appears online, a link back to the page it came from. Anything beyond that, including reproducing whole pages, republishing our illustrations separately or using our material commercially, requires our written permission first. We are usually happy to give it; the requirement is that you ask.
The repair guarantee covers manufacturing faults and ordinary wear for as long as you own the garment, including seams, linings, collars, cuffs and rewaxing. It does not cover deliberate damage, alteration by another workshop, or loss. Where a cloth run has sold out we will repair using the closest cloth we hold and will show you a photograph before proceeding.
Accuracy of what we publish
We take real care over what appears here and we correct errors when we find them or when they are pointed out to us. Even so, this site is published for general information. It is not professional, legal, medical, financial or safety advice, and it cannot account for your particular circumstances. Where a decision matters, get advice from someone qualified to give it with your situation in front of them.
Prices, availability, timings and descriptions published on this site may change. Where something must be exact, confirm it with us directly before relying on it.
Availability of the site
We aim to keep this site available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of a fault at our hosting provider, or for reasons outside our control. We may also change, move or withdraw any page at any time without giving notice.
Links to and from this site
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information, and a link is not an endorsement of everything the destination contains. You may link to our home page or to any published page provided you do so fairly, without implying an association or approval that does not exist, and without framing our pages inside your own.
Limits on our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else which the law does not permit us to limit. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected by anything on this page.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for loss arising from your reliance on general information published here rather than on advice obtained for your own circumstances.
Your messages to us
When you send us a message through this site, you confirm that what you send is yours to send and is not unlawful. We treat correspondence as private and handle it as described in our Privacy Policy. If we ever wish to publish something you sent us, we will ask you first.
If part of these terms fails
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision is severed and the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right immediately, that is not a waiver of it and we may enforce it later.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you have a complaint, please raise it with us first at workshop@halcyonthread.example; most things are settled faster by an email than by anything more formal.
